Dr. Jean Gray, CM, BSc, MD, FRCPC, LLD (Dal), DSc (Alberta)

Professor Emeritus, Medical Education, Medicine, and Pharmacology, Dalhousie University

 

Dr. Gray graduated from the University of Alberta in Chemistry (1963) and Medicine (1967) and did residency and research training in Toronto, Stanford, and Dalhousie Universities.  She joined the Faculty of Medicine at Dalhousie University and was the founding Head of the Division of General Medicine within the Department of Medicine, Associate Dean of Postgraduate Medical Education, and Associate Dean of Continuing Medical Education.  She is Professor Emeritus - Medical Education, Medicine, and Pharmacology.  Her current appointments include the Human Drug Advisory Panel of the Patented Medicines Prices Review Board, Vice-Chair of the Nova Scotia Health Research Foundation, the Board of the Cochrane Collaboration, and several editorial and scientific advisory panels.  She has been the recipient of several awards including the Commemorative Medal for the Queen’s Jubilee, Fellowship in the Canadian Academy of Health Sciences, the Order of Canada and two honorary doctorates (Dalhousie and Alberta).
